Overdraft Priviledge

Citizens and Farmers Bank would like to save you the embarrassment and the expense of having your checks returned unpaid and Overdraft Privilege* does just that!  Overdraft Privilege covers your overdrafts up to $700.  There is no charge for Overdraft Privilege unless you use it and then you pay only C&F Bank's normal overdraft fees.  The fee applies to overdrafts created by check, in-person withdrawals, ATM withdrawals, or other electronic means. 

 

What is Overdraft Privilege?

 

Overdraft Privilege is an exciting benefit of your checking account! You simply open a checking account with us and keep it in good standing for at least 30 days, and we, at our discretion, pay your overdraft checks rather than return them.

How Will Overdraft Privilege Benefit Me?

 

Overdraft Privilege will save you the embarrassment if you make an honest mistake in your checkbook, have unplanned expenses or run short on cash between paydays. Instead of returning checks unpaid, we will automatically pay them for you, up to your Overdraft Privilege limit.

 

*A $30.00 fee will be assessed per overdraft or returned check.  The fee applies to overdrafts created by check, in-person withdrawals, ATM withdrawals, or other electronic means.  An additional $5.00 fee per day after 7 days overdrawn will be charged.  Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay.  For example, we do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing or you are not making regular deposits.  To remain in good standing, you must bring your account balance to a positive balance within every thrity (30) day period for a miniumu period of 24 hours.  The total of the discretionary courtesy overdraft (negative balance), including any and all bank fees and charges, including all overdraft fees and interest charges is due and payable upon demand.
