Matt Hubbard, Regional President Southwest Virginia

Matthew C.E. Hubbard is the Regional President of the Southwest Virginia markets for C&F Bank. With over 15 years of commercial banking leadership, Matthew previously served as Roanoke Market President for Atlantic Union Bank and as Regional President for American National Bank & Trust. His expertise spans numerous areas of commercial banking, including commercial & industrial lending (C&I) and commercial real estate (CRE).

Matthew’s core business philosophy centers on building genuine client relationships, delivering individualized attention, and ensuring responsiveness — principles he views as the cornerstone of true community banking.

A graduate of Radford University with a BBA in Economics, Matthew also holds an MBA from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary. He is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia, as well as the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania.

Deeply committed to his community, Matthew has served on numerous local non-profit boards, including the Grandin Theatre Foundation, Blue Ridge Mountains Council - Boy Scouts of America, and the Science Museum of Western Virginia. He currently serves on the board of the United Way of Virginia’s Blue Ridge. In recognition of his professional and community contributions, Matthew was named to The Roanoker Magazine’s “40 under 40” class of 2023.

Matthew and his wife Erica live in Roanoke with their three young children, Harper, Ellis, and Hatcher. In his free time, he enjoys fly fishing, hunting, live music, and spending time on his tractor.
