Honoring
Maya Smith
Maya’s story is one of resilience, friendship, and love. She faced childhood cancer with incredible strength, leaving a lasting impact on those around her. Though she passed away in 2019 at just 14 years old, her spirit continues to inspire.
One of the most touching parts of Maya’s journey was her connection to Kindness Rocks. As she was leaving the hospital after treatments, Maya would often spot a small, painted rock tucked into the landscaping or perched on a windowsill – each one bearing a message of hope, strength and joy. These unexpected discoveries never failed to lift her spirits.
Inspired by these moments, Maya began creating her own kindness rocks. She poured her heart into each one, painting them with bright colors and uplifting words, then placing them where others might find them – just as she had. It became her quiet way of spreading love and encouragement to others who might need it most.
Today, those rocks are more than just painted stones. They are symbols of Maya’s enduring legacy – reminders that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. Through the Anthem Lemonaid stand and our continued support of pediatric care, we honor Maya’s memory and the joy she brought to the world.
