Our Commitment to Financial Education

As a business rooted in the Richmond community, C&F Bank believes our responsibility goes beyond delivering products and services. Through our C&F Gives Back initiative, we support meaningful partnerships and sponsorships that make our communities stronger and more connected. April is Financial Literacy Month, and we want to share why partnering with Junior Achievement of Central Virginia (JACV) has become such a meaningful extension of our values.

Investing in our local community is both a responsibility and a long-term business strategy. Strong communities create strong economies, and the students in our classrooms today represent the future workforce, customers, and leaders of tomorrow. When we invest in their growth, we invest in the long-term health of the Richmond region. That’s why during the 2024-2025 school year, nearly 20 C&F Bank employees chose to provide over 100 volunteer hours with JACV.

Through Junior Achievement, our employees volunteer in local schools and at JA Finance Park, helping students build the skillset and mindset to thrive in adulthood. We’ve seen firsthand how students gain confidence as they begin to understand concepts like budgeting, saving, and managing credit. In today’s economic environment, that knowledge is more important than ever.

These experiences go far beyond traditional volunteering. They foster connection, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the next generation.

“I am extremely passionate about teaching kids about the ‘real world’ because I wish someone had done that for me at their age. I asked, ‘What is something you're taking away from this experience?’ One student replied, ‘I'm going home to thank my mom.’ I thought that simple statement was impactful because they appreciate what being an adult really means.”

For C&F Bank, our partnership with Junior Achievement is about more than giving back—it’s about showing up with purpose by leveraging our time, talent, and resources to create lasting impact. We’re proud to stand alongside Junior Achievement and encourage you to follow along on their social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
